AI and Third-Party Services

MemoDurable uses AI-powered features to enhance your learning experience. Here's how we handle your data:

Voice Transcription (Local Processing)

When you use the voice answer feature, your audio is transcribed using our speech recognition system that runs entirely on our own servers. Your voice recordings are NOT sent to any third-party service. Transcription happens locally within our infrastructure.

AI Content Generation (OpenAI)

When you use AI features like question generation or content suggestions, text data may be sent to OpenAI for processing:

  • Text content: Questions, answers, and notes you explicitly submit for AI processing

What is NOT Sent to OpenAI

  • Your voice recordings (processed locally)
  • Your email address or personal account information
  • Your learning statistics or progress data
  • Payment or billing information
  • Content you don't explicitly submit for AI processing

OpenAI's Data Handling

For AI text features, we use OpenAI's API services. According to OpenAI's API data usage policy, data sent through the API is not used to train their models. Your content is processed and returned, not stored for training purposes. For complete details, see OpenAI's API Data Usage Policy.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the EU region. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Security Measures

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • Access to production systems is restricted and logged
  • Regular security reviews and updates

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain information.

Note: MemoDurable may remove inactive user data to manage storage. Active users with subscriptions will not have their data removed.
